Rae Edwards BA(hons) MSc ANutr
Active Mother & food lover.........
Hi, I’m Rae, founder of Sunshine & Wellness Nutrition.
I’m an Associate Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition, passionate about helping people improve their physical and mental health through realistic, evidence-based nutrition.
I’ve been working professionally as a nutritionist since completing my Masters in Nutrition in 2021. Before that, I spent many years as a youth worker, supporting young people and families to cook, eat better, and improve their health.
My main area of focus — and something I’m experiencing myself — is perimenopause. I support women to make simple, sustainable changes to their diet and lifestyle to reduce symptoms such as hot flushes, weight gain, poor sleep and anxiety. I offer 1:1 coaching, group sessions, courses and talks within the local community.
My work is also shaped by my own journey. I’ve experienced obesity, anxiety and depression, and understand how overwhelming it can feel. Improving my health through nutrition, movement and lifestyle changes has been life-changing — and it’s what drives me to help others do the same.
I support clients with:
-
improving energy and mood
-
reducing menopause symptoms
-
weight loss and long-term health
-
lowering cholesterol
-
supporting, preventing or reversing Type 2 diabetes
-
PCOS and hormone health
-
healthy ageing and dementia prevention
I’ve always loved food and have worked in restaurants, cafés, bakeries and as a chef. My approach is rooted in real life no extremes, no fads, just practical changes that fit around you.
After becoming a mum, I knew I wanted to create a healthier lifestyle — not just for me, but to be a positive role model for my son. I developed healthier habits, built confidence, and found a way of eating and living that felt sustainable.
Alongside my Masters in Nutrition, I also hold a BSc in Psychology, which supports my coaching approach — helping clients make changes that actually stick.
I believe health is a journey, not a quick fix. My goal is not for you to need me forever, but to give you the knowledge, confidence and tools to feel in control of your health long-term.
As well as working with clients 1:1, I teach Nutrition at East Sussex College Hastings, delivering courses in Nutrition and Wellbeing, Nutrition for Over 50s, Nutrition Through the Menopause, and NVQ Level 1 & 2 qualifications.
I also run fitness classes for mums — from new mums to those with grown-up children — because I know how powerful, supportive & welcoming these spaces should be and how important they are for me. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Pre and Postnatal Exercise and Nutrition.
